Herradura extra anejo tequila seleccion suprema

Still has s touch of agave left but this is really about barrel manipulation and how it can be soooooo great of done correctly. The smooth finish takes on flavors of vanilla and nutmeg. A graham cracker nuanced cinnamon creeps in.

Some vanilla peeks through. Aroma is musty, nutty and earthy with a touch of citrus. Paying for packaging and bottle design. Doesn't compare to the newer post-diffuser era Herraduras, and I've had both. Mouth feel is light and easy.

Lots of vanilla and caramel notes. I like the flavor, but I don't taste any flavors distinctive enough to mention and the finish is rather mild. So smooth, so soft, so delicious! Aroma: Notes of caramelized green apple, very similar to a good bourbon but with hints of cooked agave.

Thing of beauty the older one is. It dies quickly…. This older añejo aka XA hits on a whole other level. If you like a sweet XA or are coming from bourbon, this is gonna be a home run for you. Loads and loads of caramel with some vanilla.

Excellent nose. Aroma: wood, brown sugar, vanilla. While the newer versions are thinner and not as complex, this older one, packs an agave punch with mocha, plantains, tapioca, dried pineapple, butterscotch, raisins, with hints of churros!. Nicely balance finish that is warm, sweet and woodsy. Hard to find nowadays.

  • "Incredibly complex yet impossibly smooth.
  • Finish is longish and fairly balanced, but not inspired. Flavors of wood, honey, black pepper and vanilla compliment each other. I find this one an amazing transition for bourbon drinkers. Nose: Jammy tropical fruit with berry undercurrents. Very spicy and oaky, a little overly aggressive for my liking. Strong barrel notes. I can't imagine spending this much for this bottle.

Overall: An amazingly good tequila, seamlessly mixes some of my favorite aspects of tequila and bourbon. Definitely a dessert sipper.

Very short finish and the price is too expensive. A little too sweet for my palate. Flavors: Oak and bourbon step in and overpower the fruit and agave nose. Would be great for a whiskey drinker. Definitely knock it for price. Sweet on entry which quickly turns musty and woody.
